Our livingroom has cedar walls and ceiling; it's an a-frame design with big windows on one side. It's not too dark simply because the wood does not have any finish on it so darkens less with time, but there is an overhang outside the windows so limited light comes in. I've often thought of painting (maybe whitewashing) a portion of the room to lighten the decor, but I know with wood you can't easily go back once you put something on it. So I'd like your opinions on taking this big step. Anyone done this, did you like it, do you recommend this?
