I would like to have an opinion in the wall colors!

the walls are great - you should paint the crown the same white as the rest of the trim and then paint the ceiling the same color as the walls. It will make the room look bigger, taller. Why is there vertical trim in the corner and zigzag trim around the art on the far wall? I would probably paint those the same color as the walls - it really breaks up the flow of the room. It looks like you could use a bigger coffee table and some bolder color accent pillows. All the 5 upholstered pieces look very similar in fabric but different in style and they are similar in color to the wood floors. Maybe spread around two or three of the ones on the sofa and add 4 or 5 other pillows to the mix around the seating area to provide unity in all 5 furniture pieces but not make them look all alike. Is there any ceiling power? A chandeliere would look great and throw light up on the ceiling once painted!

the white is tooo stark against the burgundy you should paint the molding and stripes one of the accent colors found on the couch or in the pillows hope this helps

I love the wall color and the chairs are great!!! Please remove the trim around the larger painting, re-hang the pictures that are attached by the chains. I would use smaller pillows, maybe of a different print and more contrasting color.

I know that you only asked for an opinion on the wall color, but as a interior designer, I offer the follow suggestions. I suggest that you paint the ceiling and crown molding white as it will make the room look taller and much larger. Crown molding is to be shown off. I would remove the white trim in the corner and the white diamond shape entirely as they detract from your elegant furnishings and create confusion. I would keep the picture over the sofa as a focal point and remove all the other pictures, including the two chain hung pictures and re-hang them elsewhere in a grouping for interest. The flowers on the coffee table and cabinet in the corner detract from the beauty of those pieces. I would remove them. I sense an oriental theme in the room which calls for elegant simplicity. I would group together the two candles on one end of the coffee table along with a smaller item for balance and harmony. Remove the rest of the items to eliminate the feeling of clutter. I would also suggest that you replace the sofa pillows with smaller more colorful ones. Since the current pillows seem to match your arm chairs, I would put one each on the chairs that match the sofa and, if the pillows are big enough, put the other two on the floor for added interest. The wall color makes the room appear small and dark. When you walk into the room all you can see are the bright walls. Everything else is lost. I would suggest painting the walls one of the colors in your arm chairs. This would not only make your room appear to be much larger, but it would also show off your beautiful expensive drapes which are now lost. I would also suggest a tall plant, like a palm tree in the space between the arm chair and the sofa, if space allows. Happy decorating!

A lovely room as far as color and furnishings. The color scheme for the upholstered peices and drapes is monochromatic and a good decision but needs a bit of color. The painted stripes and pictures on the chains take away from the overall feel of the room and almost look as an afterthought. The coffee table arrangement is not appropriate for the scale of the room. I feel that you could enhnace the room with a better furniture layout as well. I would bring the smaller scaled chairs to the front side of the sofa, slightly angeling them out into the room and place the larger chairs at the opposite end of the room facing back towards the couch. The floor lamp is not in keeping with the style of the room. Additional lamps are needed on the side tables. Add a couch pillow to each of the larger chairs. The 4 of them together overpower the sofa. Find a complimentray fabric for additional pillows. Something with a pattern and color. Over head lighting would add charm to this room and help to carry through with what I feel is MOSTLY classified as traditional or timeless. The chains and painted stripes say modern or contemporary to me.
