Hello everyone,I believe I have worked myself into a corner please, I would appreciate all suggestions.I am renting and my walls are an antique white and my first purchase was a cream flokati area rug, since I had no plans to paint my goal was to add color with the oriental flare. My accent furniture are dark brown wood pieces, my walls decor is a 4 panel abstract that consist of browns, reds, yellows and greens which compliments quite well.My dilemma is, do I do a solid red sofa or this oriental chaise lounger in cream to match my rug, the frame of both pieces still have the dark wood. I don't want over color the place keep in mind I have plant and other red accents.Thank for your help..

Hard to say. I generally try to make sure the walls and furniture have some contrast, but either of your choices sound good. One time I was trying to pick a house paint color so I took a photo of the house with a digital camera, printed out several color copies on plain paper, then used different colored markers to see what colors looked good. Can you take a photo of your room, then "cut and paste" a photo/facsimile of each of your options? Sometimes its hard to choose until you actually see it.

good idea, but also note that cream furniture is going to get dirtier a lot faster. Maybe the red couch with cream throw & pillows. They could be dry cleaned when needed. I did a black sofa, realizing it had the same problem, and purchased a cream shabby-chic type canvas slipcover to use for everyday wear and tear. Comes off in 2 seconds, and washes up nicely.

Thank you so much, I was totally lost.I do have the scrap (wish) book I had created before I moved in and as I look back I have the floor plan in both colors. Tonight I will look over both pieces before I make my final choice. I do have a fear of colored furniture. Everything has always been black or brown.

Thank you,I was so focus on the what if I make another bad investment, I never thought of slip covers. The cream sofa did have slip covers, I'll investigate to see if red is one of the available colors. The red sofa is a sectional and I'm not sure if slip covers are an option.
