How long ago did you paint? I would live with the new color for a week or so.You may like it after all.

Part of the problem is that the rest of the walls are white. If you really are not a teal person then prime it and find a color you love. What color are the larger pieces of furniture in your living room? Take a color strip and use 3 colors on the same strip. This will give a unified look, and ease the transition. But your fighting when you have a bold color and then all white. You can do your accent wall the darkest color on the strip, the 3 other walls the next lighter color or go down 2 colors and your ceiling the lightest. Pull the main color out of your sofa-if it has multiple colors. Hope this helps.Donna

Aqua / teal can be a hard color to work woth to coordinate new things in your room. If you have the energy to paint I would do the entry and the white walls in the living room and daining room taupe, then go with the plum (if that's a color you like) accent wall. You may even take the plum or accent color into the kitch. It seems scary but when you are done and everything is back in the kitchen there is very little wall space visible. Look at your wardrobe what colors appear a lot that may be a color you like for an accent. You could keep the sofa blue and have a color scheme of taupe with plum and blues then find some nice accent pillows with plum/taupe and blue. are your windows on the accent wall or other walls?Let us know how this works out.

just painted my entryway and one wall in living.rm (focal-point) teal(aqua) and i just hate it! I want to change the entry to taupe and the wall in living.rm plum. Do I need primer before painting these walls? Any ideas on window treatments (curtains, panels, color, etc.)? The rest of the walls are white and it is one big open space (living.rm, dining, kitchen) with lots of windows. Please help before I make a big mess. I was trying the teal/blue look but that is not really me. Also, I have a blue micro-fabric sofa and will need to change color to match the plum any suggestions? and where to shop and color for slipcover and cushions that are decent in price. Yes, tight budget. Thank you for any suggestions you post!
