decorating an efficiency unit condo-
mamalinda
my husband and I just purchased a one room efficiency unit condo in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. How should we place the furniture? One bed and one queen size sofa sleeper or 2 queen sleepers?

I would definitely have at least one comfortable bed! Depends on the dimensions of the one living/sleeping space for actual placement. If you have room, create separate "areas" for sleeping and living and dining by "dividing" areas (especially if you will be having a lot of overnight guests). Make a "wall" of plants or a decorative folding screen or wrought iron, lattice work, or sheer panels. Being able to see through your "walls" will help give the illusion of more space and light. You might could place the sofa at the foot of the bed facing away to a television or view of the ocean (if you have one). The sofa acts as the living/seating area but is facing away from your sleeping area (and you can watch TV from the bed IF that's a plus for you). If space is limited and you have a balcony, use it for your dining or extra seating area (& hopefully you have a bar in the kitchen for when you need to eat indoors or use a small folding table or TV trays).
