Trundles for Full Bed

Hi,Now that i have finished my daughter's room and setting it up, i felt may be having a trundle under the bed for extra storage or sleepovers would be a nice thing to have.But since we converted my daughter's existing crib to a full bed, how can i now add a trundle under the bed? Can i get these kinds and where?ThanksPavani

If you're going to use the space under the bed for storage or a trundle, you may need to raise the bed higher for clearance. You can get bed risers at places like Bed, Bath, & Beyond, or Linens and Things. They are a sturdy composite plastic or fiberglass, in a sort of flat-topped cone shape, and you just set the legs of the bed on top of them. (if the existing bed has wheels on it, you will need to remove the wheels for stability). It raises the bed about 6 inches.I've seen trundle units at used furniture stores, in twin sizes, either what looks like a giant wooden drawer, large enough for a twin mattress, or a frame on wheels, (be careful of the older metal ones that raise up - they can be heavy, difficult to manage, and smash fingers when trying to move or operate them). Or you could buy large flat storage boxes to store things in under the bed at Wal-mart, Target, or the container store.

Pavani,I've done something similar in my son's room. He has a double bed that sits rather high, so it's not difficult to fit another bed underneath it. We didn't opt for a trundle. Instead, we used our left-over futon mattress placed on a rolling platform. The platform can be easily constructed of a couple of plywood sheets and finished with four locking wheels placed underneath. It works well for us when he has friends stay over.

hi, i work for a great mattress co. you can just get a metal pop-up unit, it goes under any matress set up high enough about 10 inches or more , it only comes in twin size, and very inexpesive, it just need a twin matt only to go on top, it can stay on the floor leve or pop up to the height of the other mattress
