Subway Tile Backsplash-Grout color suggestions?

RLWatl
I'm having a tile backsplash installed in my kitchen next week and I need to select the grout. I have white cabinets and brown granite counters and have selected white subway tiles with a crackle finish for the backsplash. Should I go with basic white grout? I've read that a light gray or "oyster" color looks nice with subway tiles - Does anyone have any suggestions? Or even better, photos they can share?THANKS!

Go with the light grey or something with just a little color. I think my grout color is twilight snow or something like that. It looks great.

oyster would likely be my choice.

I believe that you should have a professional advise, from my experience, grout around water area shouldn't be snow white, it will be stained with the time, so go for grey and it's nice contrast with white tiles. Good luck mscontractor.co.uk

what color do you plan to paint the walls? if painting walls a "cool" shade then go for the pale gray grout; if painting walls a "warm" shade then go with a warmer grout color such as the oyster.

If your backsplash tiles will meet the brown granite, I suggest a grout color that is close to the granite color, which will tie the backsplash to the counter top. Darker grout can be quite dramatic, especially when you have white cupboards, and remember "dark" receeds, and light "move out forward". Usually grout it something that is considered a background. Try drawing a sample, and put in the colors with water colors or markers, and see if you like the effect of white on top, tiles in middle with dark grout, and the granite color, then white again. Good luck.
