Retro Front Door

missymmd
I have a 1950's ranch home with a 1980's front door. I'm looking for a source for a retro front door - reproduction or original - Any suggestions? Thanks

You can have mine, LOL. It has three windows at a slant, about eye level, that are upright rectangles about 4" X 12". It is ridiculous, as there is no good way to cover the windows. I have a curtain over the upper part of the inside of the door.I'll keep my eyes open for a source.

Thats funny because my front door has no windows and it drives me nuts!!! You could always frost the glass with Armor Etch cream. It would give you privacy but still let light in.

My DH suggested you go to a salvage yard that has building materials. Our local paper has a "come and get it" section for stuff people are giving away to anyone who will come get it, or are willing to trade something for it. I've heard of free stuff on "Craig's list", and you might call around to local contractors who do remodeling, in case they have something, or run across something.P.S. When we got the house 20 yrs. ago, the windows had a stick on window film on them. It was a frosted design that was somewhat opaque, letting in light, but you couldn't see in or out. I hated it and pulled it off about 10 yrs. ago.
