Painting a Master Bedroom and Bath
woundedheart
Help. My husband and I purchased our first home a year and a half ago. Now that we are settled we are ready to tackle the decorating projects. I want to paint my master bedroom and bath. My house is a two story colonial. Currently the walls are confederate blue (from the previous owners)My style of preference is Tuscany. My bedroom furniture is a light ash bed w/ large post. I plan on purchasing a dresser in the same finish with a grey marble top and matching chest. I will d0 side tables or mirrored night stands. The room currently has medium stained oak crown molding and a chair rail. I plan on removing the chair rail to give the room some height. Next. The bathroom is horrible. Currently their is cream wall paper with antique blue and rose flowers. This must go! Their is a tub and shower and double vanity with oak canbinets in one room and an adjacent room with the toilet and a stand up shower in it. That room is also confederate blue. I want to change the floors and walls. These two rooms have lots of potential but, I don't know where to start.

I love the style furniture you have chosen. I would decide on a Tuscan style or design comforter and/or draperies and choose my wall color from those colors. Probably either the lighter or medium color, or the background color of the fabric. In the bathroom if you could do stone floors that would be great. Something that would cooridinate with you vanity and possibly the marble top of your dresser.
