Paint color for walls
lacrossemom8
I just moved into a new house and the walls are stark white with chocolate brown trim in the living room that my beautiful moss green couch inhabits. I want to paint the walls another color other than white but I am unsure what color will go good with moss green couch. My husband thinks that "wine" colored walls would look nice...but I am afraid the room will look like Christmas all year round. Does anyone have any advise or pictures on what color I could paint my walls?

I don't have any color suggestions because I myself am trying to pick out colors for my new place and am having a hard time. One awesome website that I love love love is HGTV's Rate My Space website. People post pics of their rooms and they get rated and commented on. You could post your pic and ask the question and you would surely get some good responses. Some of the people on that site are very talented. Also, I use this as inspiration. I find pictures I like and save them on my computer for future ideas. you might try a neutral wall shade (a medium tone taupe might be a good choice and would be much less of a contrast between walls and trim and it would compliment the sofa color too). i have an open concept first floor and painted most of it in ben. moore cape hatteras sand....it actually looks different in each room depending on the colors it's against and in different lights. i get alot of compliments on it. you might check out the virtual painting tool on benjminmoore.com. it's fun to play with the colors and you can get a better idea of how colors look together, and then you can go to the paint store and try a sample size on your wall for a better idea. it helped me to choose the colors for my home. good luck!

I'd personally go with the neutral also, like ju-ju suggested. Anything from a bone color, soft beige, or the taupe would be my first choice to go with mossy green, because I love the soft, earthy "forest colors". But, if you crave some color, maybe a soft terra cotta, creamy yellow, or possibly even a mauve.
