I've chosen a maroon wallpaper color for all the walls in my room, the built-in furniture are dark brown with the sliding door that separated the walk-in closet is white with silver metal across horizontally. Please give me some advise how to make it looks relax and cozy, as I've never seen a room with that color. It is too late to change now.

So, are you trying to change the closet door to blend with the rest of the room, which is maroon walls and dark brown furniture? If so, closet doors can be painted. So what kind of bedding, window treatments, and other colors are you using? I'd suggest you paint the closet doors the same color as the trim around doors, windows, and baseboards. If you haven't picked a color, I suggest you find a color in the bedding, an area rug, or a picture on the wall, and use that for your accent color. A tan or gold is what I thought of first. If the doors cannot be painted, if they are a standard size they can be replaced, or take them off and put up curtains over your closet door. Mirrored sliding doors might be an option, and they should be available in a gold or bronzed trim that would blend with the room better than the silver.Is the silver trim on the closet doors part of the hardware, or was it a painted design? If it is hardware, it can often be painted, or replaced with the gold toned metal strip. If it was a painted design, prime it with Kilz, and then paint it what ever color you want.
