Kids 1st year picture ideas

HI,I finally found sometime for my project to organize both of my daughter's 1st year pictures. But i am in a big dilemma.I know we get the traditional 1st year pic frame with 12 slots. But i have so many of the favorite pics which i would like to use like different occasions, places, people etc(Only in 1st year). I would say about 100-130 for each of them. I can reduce them to may be 75-80.I am thinking of a collage idea where i can get all the pictures togetherwith one big picture of her on 1st bday so that i can use that as display either in her room or family room! But i don't think i can get anything like that where i can just fill in the pics and frame.Any ideas how i can do it? or any other better ideas to get all these pics together??Thanks

I always thought the picture frames with 12 slots were for school pictures (12 grades), I never even thought about yearly pictures (12 months)! Too late now, my kids are grown. What about doing a collage each for each child with a good sample of photos for their rooms, then have a few favorites enlarged and displayed around the house. Then each year, replace some of the pictures, putting the photos removed into a photo album for each child. Scrapbooking is a very popular craft right now, and so many creative ideas. Personally, I'm not a big fan of using family photos to decorate with, in place of artwork. I like them attractively framed and displayed in a way that accents your decor. Or use hallways (if you have good lighting) as a "photo gallery" and place groupings of photos. You can get those framed collages, with blank spots to just add your own photos, in various sizes and configurations, or put them in individual frames hung in groups. Maybe devote one to extended family, one to family vacations, one to posed portraits, one of the kids with pets, at play, or one just of different expressions on their faces. As far as how to organize them, it's just a matter of personal preference. You might do them chronologically (by age), in categories (at play, on vacation, eating, sleeping, with family, of settings (home, school, outside, in the tub), or by event or holidays. Or a combination of all of those. If you do albums, you can devote one page/section per year to each child, showing all important milestones or events. In another album you can have only vacations, or only holidays, only friends, only immediate family, or only extended family, with one page/section per year.

Hey catwoman708,I found this cool feature to do these collage picture frames. If you have Costco membership you can do this online on their photo center. They have a new 'Collage Posters' feature in their gifts section. You can pick what ever size and then add upto 30 pics to the collage. Order it online, pick it up at the local store and just put the print in the frame-- you are done!!And it is very cheap... the 20X30 size collage is for $9.99

Thanks! I don't have a Costco membership, but we do have a Sam's one and they have a photo center with various other otptions. I've been looking for something like that for my daughter's upcoming wedding

Hi there again,The good thing is you can use any of your friends valid membership card number to order. You can do all your photo work online and just when you order, you need the valid number. It won't be charged on their account either. All you need is the same valid card to pick up the item from store. So you have to tag along your friend with you.Unfortunately, i have a SAM's club card and i donot have a costco card. But i am using one from my friend when need arises like this.SAM's does do enlargements but not Collages.
