Carpet colors

Color Blind
Hi:We have a 4yr old daughter, who is getting her own room. The room used to be master bedroom it is 10X15(more or less). Being a 4 yr girl, it is painted in the Disney Princess colors1 wall - yellow1 wall is purpleThe ceiling is a light blue, the trim around the bottom of the walls are painted light pink with a white border that separates the bottom from the top. Not to mention the main door & closes have a combination of light blue, light pink, and white. The room looks really nice, but selecting a carpet is hard. Nothing really matches. Any advice- besides white carpet, remember this is a 4yr old.

how about a laminate wood floor with area rugs

If you don't already have carpet, I like the wood floor idea with area rugs too. Large ceramic or slate tiles (maybe a neutral like light gray or stone/putty color) would give you that "castle floor" look for your little princess.I can't think of much for the carpet color but I have always liked gray with pastels and purple, pretty much any neutral color would work. I did a room in green carpet one time (to simulate grass) and did a "cottage garden" theme, but green isn't a color that works for everyone.

The more I think about, the more I like the idea of the wood floor with area rugs. I've been looking around, and find it easier to get something to match using area rugs than carpet. Thanks for the solution.now, I have to convince my wife. - this is where the fights start. Thanks

Nice to get an update, this board gets very little traffic! About the wood floors, remind your wife "timeless elegance" never goes out of style (and your daughter will love "skating" on the wood floors in her socks).

laminate is so easy to put in and its very easy to clean and it looks so pretty.
