Can you paint a tile backsplash?

I am getting ready to redecorate living-dining area. I want to tie in some of the paint colors in the kitchen by painting some of the tile on the backsplash. Can this be done? Is there a special paint to use?

Uh, no. I don't know of any type paint that would stick to tile, especially near a sink where there will be water and humidity.There is a process called re-glazing, but it's expensive and you would have to have it professionally done.

yes. there are epoxy paints (very smelly!!) available to paint ceramic tiles. however, the colors are limited. check with your local tile store...they may know more about this product and where you can get it.

My Mother in law painted her tile in her kitchen, she stenciled designs on them it looked really nice, she painted some a solid color too. You should ask in a arts and craft store, they would know.
