bathfitters is very expensive. and if your old tub or shower is fiberglass, they wont install over it, they will tell you to replace it.

I have used bathfitters and it was about $2,800. BUT, I HAVE A VERY DEEP, VERY LARGE OLD TUB IN MY HOUSE AND I DIDN'T WANT A CHEAP NEW ONE. My mother used bath fitters and it wasn't as expensive. The walls were also done (again, high ceilings in this old house). When you look at the cost to remove a cast iron tub, replace walls, replace floor boards where the tub was removed, and get someone to do everything, BATH FITTERS IS WORTH EVERY PENNY. MY BATHROOM is beautiful and all I had to do was write a check - much better than doing all the work myself. (We only had the tub and surround done - though they will remodel the entire room if you want

I had Bath Fitters come....very expensive. We are re-doing the bathroom and we are having our cast iron tub reglazed. only about 340$. we thought it was a great deal compared to buying and REMOVING an old tub. It all seemed like such a pain. We are excited about the reglazing.Kathy

I've often wondered about the cost of bathfitters myself, but never priced it. I will say I recently stayed in a hotel that had used them or something very similar, and either the work was not done properly, or a seal around the drain had come undone...(loose with a gap?)I took a shower & wanted to shave my legs. It felt as though I was standing on a waterbed! It was impossible to stand on one leg without feeling you would surely fall. Unfortunately, somehow, the water had gotten in-between the original tub and the piece they put over it down by the drain. I didn't see any piece of brass or stainless steel for a ring, but I don't know if there is usually one there, or they use glue, or fold the new piece over the drain around the rim.If you go that route, I would certainly ask about seals, sealants, and perhaps any sort of guarantee. I know I would. Good luck!

I just had Bath Fitters install a tub and surround in my Florida vacation home. Since we only live here part time I went with the least expensive offering. I was quoted $2,600 but managed to get it down to $2,100. The installer was very efficient and so far I'm totally pleased with the results.
